That game really captured my imagination and gave me a lot of laughs. Sometimes I turn on the game just to cruise around, listen to music and see the sights. My favorite is probably the cliffs made of amps. I love running and driving around the heavy metal world and seeing all the sick as hell monuments and natural wonders. The thing that really seals it as my favorite game really is the environments.

Plus the music is just awesome, introduced me to some great bands that I still love. The voice actors are cool, hearing Lemmy, Ozzy and Rob Halford voice characters was awesome and Jack Black killed it as Eddie as well. There are also simply too many stage battles too close together.īut all of the positives eclipse the negatives in my mind. I beat it about once a year. Its got problems for sure, You get to the first emo stage battle the pacing quickly takes a nose dive and things happen too fast which is really sad because I would have loved it if there were more on foot sections or non stage battle bosses. It had potential otherwise, although I have no way of knowing how balanced the factions really were.

My friend and I tried many times to fight each other in multiplayer but it always lagged so badly (on PS3) that we could never have a fun round of it. My biggest disappointment was actually the netcode. I really wish this game had seen more success. The soundtrack is awesome, I dig the over the top metal art everywhere, and there some decent celeb cameos too! It also has one of the best main menus I’ve ever seen, with the opening of the record album and flipping the record as you progress through the options. The controls are wonky too but for a console RTS it’s about as good as it gets really. For me that was a pleasant surprise but for most it killed the game. A lot of people, including myself, were totally blind sided by the switch from action to strategy. I really loved this game and played multiple times too.
